The shallow bite has turned on along shorelines near deep drop-offs and along secondary points to main lake coves. Good quantities of bass to 4 pounds are being caught. Finesse jigs and swimming jigs in natural colors are good choices as are soft plastic stick baits in green pumpkin or watermelon combinations.
Bass to 8 pounds are being caught off main lake flats and deep drops near the flats when wind permits. Three quarter to one ounce jigs free falling down the face of the drops are effective. Brush hogs and lizards fished along the flats are producing. Hard jerk baits along the flats are also good options.
Site fishing is still a good option with fair numbers of fish on beds in 4 to 10 feet of water. Target main lake coves and protected waters.
