Caballo is the norther most canyon on the west end of the lake closest to the Rio Grande.  Caballo has a large number of coves and underwater points but is best know for offering large fish in the deep grass in the summer and fall at the back of the canyon.

Caballo offers a good fish population and an opportunity to catch a lot of fish along the many coves, but you see the trophy hunters working heavy jigs and heavily weighted plastics through the grass in 20 to 30 feet of water!
